Languages Connect : French with Audrey

Knockainey National School

This year we were delighted to have been chosen for the third year in a row to participate in the Primary Languages Sampler- Languages Connect. Over 500 schools nationwide have been taking part.

Over the past few months our wonderful French tutor Audrey Parent has had 8 sessions with the children helping them to develop their conversation skills, vocabulary and appreciation of the language. One of the days Audrey spoke about her culture and where she is from – New Caledonia. The pupils loved hearing her stories and learning about her background.

The children received stickers, language passports and vocabulary packs for free as part of the programme which is funded by the Department of Education and facilitated by Post Primary Languages Ireland, as a key objective of the Languages Connect.
