We were delighted to learn that we had received our sixth Green Flag! Ms Morris, Mrs Buckley and two representatives of our Committee went to the Awards Ceremony in Cork to collect our new Green Flag. We look forward to raising this flag soon.

Senior Infants, 1st and 2nd Class recently learned all about the life cycle of a butterfly. Each class received a tub of caterpillars and the children observed them transforming into butterflies. When the butterflies were ready, we released them and had fun releasing them out of their nets.

6th class pupils in Knockainey and Lough Gur recently took part in the Stepping Up Programme with Lisa Ryan.
This workshop focused on the transition to post-primary school and the pupils got a chance to talk about their fears, anxieties and also what they are looking forward to.
We would like to thank Lisa. The pupils thoroughly enjoyed the workshop.
On Tuesday June 2nd we had Ger’s Mobile Farm at the school which was kindly sponsored by the Board of Management. Thanks to the board for providing this for the children. It was a fantastic day and everyone really enjoyed.

On Tuesday June 6th we had our eagerly anticipated school tour. We set off at 8am from the community centre and headed to Kilkenny.
The Junior end headed to Castlecomer Discovery Park for the day and enjoyed some food at the Jarrow Cafe.
Our Senior end visited Kilkenny Castle, enjoyed some shopping in Kilkenny and then went to Castlecomer Discover Park to finish off the day.
It was a wonderful day that was really enjoyed by all.

Congratulations to the victorious South Girls Team who got presented with their Larkin Shield medals on Monday. Well done Kate on such a fantastic achievement. You are a credit to your school, club and family. Well done!
Well done to our 3rd and 4th class girls who took part in the LGFA blitz held at JTBCS Hospital. It was great day of football. Well done to the TY Students, their teachers and John Mc Namara from LGFA for organising. Our girls had a tremendous day out. They really enjoyed the fun warm up and games. They all received a participation medal at the end of the day. Well done all!
Well done to both our Boys Hurling and Girls Camogie teams who have represented the school in the last few weeks.
Both teams played Kilmallock, Bruree and Bruff. These were hard fought games and both teams gave their all in each of the games.

Before the Easter holidays our Parent Association ran a fundraiser ‘Rock Your Socks’ in aid of Down Syndrome Limerick.
We had great fun admiring each classroom’s colourful and creative sock collections.
