3rd and 4th Class Girls Development Blitz @ JTBCS Hospital

Well done to our 3rd and 4th class girls who took part in the LGFA blitz held at JTBCS Hospital. It was great day of football. Well done to the TY Students, their teachers and John Mc Namara from LGFA for organising. Our girls had a tremendous day out. They really enjoyed the fun warm up and games. They all received a participation medal at the end of the day. Well done all!

Knockainey LGFA

Just before the midterm Knockainey LGFA members visited our school. They brought some of their silver wear to show us and spoke about their excellent achievements last year.

The girls visited each of the classrooms and answered questions from the pupils. They encouraged younger members to join and spoke about the importance of having a hobby.

After visiting the classrooms, the girls then took Junior Infants followed by Senior Infants out onto the yard to play some games. The infants thoroughly enjoyed the games.

It was great to welcome past pupils back to the school and to see all their fantastic achievements. We would like to wish the girls all the best for the upcoming season.

Handball

A special word of thanks to John O’ Connor of Hospital Handball club who kindly gave coaching lessons to the 6th class pupils over the last few weeks. The children really enjoyed the training and they also learned about the history of handball and famous handballers.

John also held a raffle and some of the children won some fantastic prizes. If any of the children are interested in joining a handball club, make sure to check out the Hospital Handball Facebook page or else contact us here at the school.
